Pastor Mark Montgomery and his family arrived in DuBois on July 2, 2002.
Mark and Deb met at Baptist Bible College in 1971 and were married in 1973. God has blessed them with three children; Melissa, Mark II, and Matthew; a daughter-in-law, Erin; and a grandson, Hudson.
Pastor Mark holds a bachelor degree in Bible and Theology from Baptist Bible College of PA, Clarks Summit, PA, and a Masters Degree in Christian School Administration from Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, IN.
Pastor Mark served full time in Christian schools for 14 years before joining the pastoral staff of First Baptist Church in Hemet, CA, where he served for 11 years, the last two as interim senior pastor. In 2002, Pastor Mark accepted the call to pastor the First Baptist Church of DuBois.
Even though he had never been in DuBois, the move was like "coming home" to him. As a multi-generational church with an emphasis on family, church life is structured to accomodate that reality. Seeking a balanced worship style, Pastor encourages a blending of the great hymns of the past with contemporary praise and worship music.
Pastor Mark reminds us that "God calls us to be holy as He is holy. He has a plan for our lives, and He works it out as we yield our will to His will." It is his prayer that the Lord will bless this ministry as we labor together for Him.
